Day 1: Arrival in Moscow

You will be met, greeted and escorted to your hotel.
This evening you can relax, have a warming welcome drink with your fellow travelers and the Russian team.

Day 2: Admire the Crispy and Festive Moscow

Moscow is lavishly adorned in New Year time and you have a chance to feel its winter spirit. Step into Red Square and find yourself at a lively Christmas market where you can find lots of delights from the decorations to traditional pastry! Visit the famous St. Basil’s Cathedral and GUM department store, view the State Historical Museum and Lenin’s mausoleum. Optionally, ice-skate on the main open-air skating rink in the city – right on Red Square!

Explore new urban Zaryadye park and admire the breathtaking view of Moscow from the Soaring Bridge.

Enjoy lunch at the Gastronomical center, taste local dishes with a modern twist.

After, admire the Art Nouveau design of historical Metropol Hotel and view the Bolshoi Theatre. Then we will drive around the Kremlin and enter the Christ the Savior Cathedral, a church with a controversial history. Reach the Novodevichy (New Maiden) Convent, Poklonnaya Hill (Bow Hill) – commemorating the events of World War II, see Moscow University and the Sparrow Hills.

In the evening enjoy a Festive dinner a-la Russe and taste vodka with caviar!

Day 3: Kremlin Day

Today, you will enter the Kremlin walls to feel the country’s past and present. The Kremlin is an old fortress and the most important historical and political center of Russia. You will see the Kremlin’s compositional center and look into the three main cathedrals – the Assumption, the Annunciation and the Archangel’s Michael cathedral. Take the picture with the biggest New Year tree in Russia located on the Cathedral square – it is wonderful!

Then visit the Armory Chamber – the treasury of Russian tsars that houses a collection of unique jewelry, court regalia, armor, coronation dresses, golden carriages, and some of the fabulous and priceless Easter Eggs by Karl Faberge.

Take some time to explore the city on your own, visit Christmas markets and mingle with the locals.

In the evening you will have a chance to enjoy the performance at the Bolshoi Theatre. The most popular Christmas ballet in Russia is the Nutcracker by Petr Tchaikovsky (the schedule is subject to change; tickets are not included and require advance purchase).

Day 4: Russian Art of all times and styles - Christmas Eve

After breakfast, take a Metro ride with your guide and stop to explore the grandeur of its most impressive stations. Then visit the Old Tretyakov gallery.

After lunch, take a walk in the Park of Arts Muzeon with the statues of disgraced leaders. To complete the art tour, visit the New Tretyakov Gallery a premier venue for Russian contemporary art.

In the evening as an option you may visit the famous Sanduny baths – Russian steam sauna. Enjoy Christmas Eve Dinner.

Day 5: Rail to St. Petersburg - Hermitage

After breakfast and check out you will be transferred to Leningradsky railway station to board the rapid train Sapsan to St. Petersburg. You will be offered meals on board.

Upon arrival admire the main Christmas tree in the city at the Palace square. Take in the spectacular panorama of the General Staff building, Alexander column and the Hermitage. A highlight of your stay is a guided visit to the famous Hermitage Museum with its masterpieces by hundreds of artists. Explore the halls of the Winter Palace including Peter’s Thone room.

Take some time to explore the city on your own, visit Christmas markets, enjoy coffee and meals. In the evening walk along the Nevsky prospect, elegantly decorated for the New Year!

Day 6: Imperial Treasures and Boxing day

Unfold a little Christmas present from Strelka team and let the magic begin. It’s time to go out of town to discover Catherine’s palace. Its main attractions are the mirrored Grand Ballroom and the opulent Amber Room. Then have some Russian winter fun – ride the horse drawn! 

Before the transfer to St. Petersburg, enjoy your Russian-style lunch. Then upon arrival in the city, you will visit the Faberge museum established by Viktor Vekselberg. One item you might admire is the world’s largest collection of priceless Easter eggs that Faberge created for the Imperial family.

In the evening, optionally, enjoy a ballet at one of St. Petersburg theatres – Mariinsky, Mikhailovsky or Alexandrinsky (the schedule is subject to change; tickets are not included and require advance purchase).

Day 7: The City of Tsars and Revolutions

This morning enjoy the tour of the northern capital of Russia. Admire the impressive St. Isaac’s cathedral, Bronze Horseman statue of Peter the Great and splendid view of the city from the Spit of Vasilievsky Island. See the oldest part of the city – Peter and Paul Fortress where the town of Peter started in 1703. Continue past the most famous church in the city the Church of Our Savior on the Spilled Blood.

Learn about the Great October Revolution in Russia. View the famous Cruiser Aurora and learn more about the head of the Revolution, the Bolsheviks’ mastermind аnd Soviet people’s idol for many decades – Vladimir Lenin.

This evening take part in a culinary class and cook traditional New Year’s dishes or enjoy black caviar tasting followed by Russian style dinner.
