Enter the Kremlin walls to feel the country’s past and present. The Kremlin is an old fortress, the most important historical and political center of Russia. Today, it is also the seat of the Russian president. View the beautiful Cathedral Square and the three main Cathedrals. The Assumption was the church where coronations took place. The Annunciation was the site used for royal weddings. The Archangel Michael is the site where Russian monarchs are buried.

Apart from the Kremlin Cathedrals visit the Armory Chamber – the treasury of Russian Tsars that houses a collection of unique jewelry, court regalia, armor, coronation dresses, golden carriages, and some of the fabulous and priceless Easter Eggs by Karl Faberge. Have a close-up view of some spectacular personal items from Russia’s past. One item you might notice is an original pair of boots worn by Peter the Great. How does the size of your shoes compare to the one of Peter? In contrast, view a pair of coronation shoes worn by Catherine the Great (Russian queen 17th century) that are on display. You might say that her feet were tiny compared to her impact on Russian history. The Monomakh hat, the crown that was used for the coronation of monarchs is also there. You can feel how heavy the crown is. That may reflect the heavy burden of responsibility that weighs on the shoulders of Russia’s ruler.
