Day 1 TUE (May 25, 2021): Welcome to Russia

Upon arrival you will be met and escorted to the 5* cruise ship Mustai Karim, your home for the next 7 nights in Russia. 

In the evening meet Strelka Team and enjoy a dinner a la Russe at the famous Café Pushkin, and soak up the unique atmosphere of downtown Moscow.

Before returning to the ship enjoy Moscow by night tour to watch the magical illumination of the city.

Day 2 WED (May 26, 2021): Moscow

After breakfast meet your guide to get some insights into the rich history of Moscow. Enter the Kremlin walls to discover the country’s past and present. See the Kremlin’s compositional center and look into the three main cathedrals – the Assumption, the Annunciation and the Archangel’s Michael cathedral. Step into Red Square to admire the colorful domes of St. Basil’s cathedral. View the famous landmarks including the Savior Tower, the Kremlin walls, GUM department store, the State Historical Museum and Lenin’s mausoleum. Enjoy walk in the new urban Zaryadye Park and lunch at the GastroCenter.

After lunch learn about KGB and what it was like to live under the KGB’s watchful eye in Russia. Then visit the places connected with the cultural, religious and political life of Moscow Jews. 

Return to the ship for the Captain’s Welcome Cocktail Dinner and the concert.

Day 3 THU (May 27, 2021): Uglich

After breakfast, you may participate in the lecture on Russian history and learn some Russian.

Then enjoy a walking tour in Uglich – an ancient town on the Volga River with more than 1000 years of history. Visit Uglich Kremlin and Church of St. Dmitry on the Blood which was built on the spot where prince Dmitry, son of Ivan the Terrible, was murdered. Enjoy the concert of choir Kovcheg exclusively arranged for the guests of Mustai Karim. Visit the local family, where special treats and engaging conversations are waiting for you. In the evening enjoy entertainment onboard and a traditional dinner.

Day 4 FRI (May 28, 2021): Goritsy

After breakfast optionally take a Pelmeni cooking class before arrival in Goritsy. Goritsy is a tiny village settlement on the edge of the White Lake. Tour the ancient Ferapontov Monastery, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The walls of the Cathedral of Nativity of the Virgin are covered with invaluable frescoes by the great medieval painter Dionisius. Before dinner, play some traditional Russian games.

Day 5 SAT (May 29, 2021): Kizhi

In the morning embark on a Captain’s bridge tour. Then reach the unique island in the Onega Lake. Kizhi Island became famous due to the collection of wooden churches built completely without the use of nails. Have a tour of the open-air museum of wooden architecture. Visit traditional wooden house and Russian banya (sauna). After the tour enjoy exclusive concert “Music of Northern Village”. Return to the ship for a themed dinner.

Day 6 SUN (May 30, 2021): Mandrogui

After breakfast don’t miss the Q&A session with locals about everyday life in Russia. Later, explore Mandrogui – a reconstructed village, built to illustrate the traditions and lifestyle of Russia’s past. Visit the vodka museum and talk further with locals. Have a BBQ lunch, taste shashlik (kebab) and enjoy the scenery. Relax and enjoy the Gala Concert.

Day 7 MON (May 31, 2021): St. Petersburg

The city tour of St. Petersburg will feature the impressive St. Isaac’s Cathedral, Bronze Horseman statue of Peter the Great and a splendid view of the city from the Spit of Vasilievsky Island. Follow your guide to the oldest part of the city – Peter and Paul Fortress where the town of Peter started in 1703. Then enjoy the private canal cruise. If you look at the city from the water, you will see an absolutely different St. Petersburg.

After lunch enter the Yusoupov Palace on Moika River that was the residence of the incredibly wealthy Yusoupov family. The palace is one of the few aristocratic mansions that still exists in St. Petersburg that could boast both the lavish façade, and the interiors.

In the evening enjoy dinner and a concert. Virtuosi of the Mariinsky and Mikhailovsky Theatre will perform compositions by various Russian composers for your pleasure and delight, including pieces by Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky. Each performance is complemented by a short story about the composers and the history of the work performed.

Day 8 TUE (June 1, 2021): Return Home

Enjoy leisurely breakfast before departure.

Departure transfer to the airport for your flight home.
